One item per ticket and ticket copies

Written by Kate Khunvirojpanich
Updated this week

This update adds two new settings for ticket printer groups that give you more control over how order tickets print in the kitchen or bar. You can choose to print each item on its own ticket and/or print multiple copies of each ticket. These settings only apply to tickets, not receipts.

What this feature does

You can now configure ticket printer groups to:

  • Print one item per ticket - each order item prints on a separate ticket instead of grouping all items together.

  • Print multiple copies of each ticket - each ticket can print up to 10 copies, with the header clearly labelled “Copy X of Y” so staff can distinguish them.

What it doesn’t do

❌ These settings only apply to ticket-type printer groups.

❌ They do not apply to receipts.

❌ Cancellation tickets are not affected by these settings.

How to use this feature

  1. Go to Settings.

  2. Select Direct Printing.

  3. Click Printer Groups.

  4. Create a new printer group or edit an existing one.

  5. Set the Document Type to Ticket.

Once the document type is set to Ticket, you will see two new options.

What you will find

Option 1: One Item Per Ticket

Turn on One item per ticket to print each order item on a separate ticket.

  • Default: Off

  • When enabled, the Order item sorting option will automatically disappear because it is no longer needed.

This is useful for kitchens or bars where staff prefer to handle items individually.

Option 2: Ticket Copies

Use Ticket copies to print multiple copies of the same ticket.

  • Default: 1 copy

  • Maximum: 10 copies

Each copy will show a header such as: Copy 1 of 3, Copy 2 of 3, Copy 3 of 3. This helps staff quickly identify each duplicate.

‼️ Important Notes

When using ticket copies, the copies are sent as separate print jobs so print order between copies isn't strictly guaranteed. Since all copies are identical, this shouldn't cause any issues in practice.
