With the Grab integration, orders placed on GrabFood come straight into Papaya. They appear in Orders already paid, ready for your kitchen, so staff don't have to re-enter them from a Grab tablet. Your Grab menu is managed from Papaya too: change an item or price once and publish it to Grab.
‼️ The Grab integration is part of the Pro plan.
What you need
An active GrabFood store.
Your Grab Merchant ID. It starts with a number and a dash, like 3-C4EXAMPLE123. You can find it in your GrabMerchant account, or ask your Grab account manager.
Your menu set up in Papaya. This is the menu Grab will show.
Connect your Grab store
Go to Settings → Food Delivery (open it).
Under Grab, enter your Grab Merchant ID and click Save.
Message the Papaya team in chat to ask for your Grab store to be connected. We link it to your outlet, add a Grab channel, and publish your menu to Grab. If Grab asks you to confirm the connection, we'll send you a link.
We'll let you know as soon as your store is live.
How Grab orders appear
Each Grab order arrives in Orders on the Grab channel, labelled with its Grab order number (for example GF-483), so you can match it to the Grab app.
It comes in already paid: the payment shows as Grab, for the full amount the customer paid.
The order goes straight to the kitchen. Prepare it and hand it to the Grab rider as usual.
Keep your Grab menu up to date
Make menu changes in Papaya (items, prices, options and availability), then click Publish menu on the Menu page. Changes usually show on Grab within about 10 minutes.
‼️ Always publish after you remove or rename an item. If Grab still shows an item you've taken off your Papaya menu, orders for it can't come through.
Grab's menu limits
An item can have up to 30 option groups.
Options where customers can pick several are shown as separate choices on Grab.
Grab may hide items its content team flags, for example some items that mention alcohol.
Troubleshooting
What you see | What to do |
A menu change isn't showing on Grab | Click Publish menu and wait about 10 minutes. If it still doesn't show, message us in chat. |
A Grab order didn't appear in Papaya | Check the item is still on your Papaya menu and that you've published it, then message us with the Grab order number. |
Grab says your store is disconnected | Message us in chat and we'll reconnect it. We may send you a link to confirm in Grab. |
FAQ
Does this change what Grab charges me?
No. Grab's commission stays as agreed with Grab. You can record the rate on your Grab channel to see it in reports. See Delivery Partner Channels.
Can I also deliver orders myself?
Yes. For orders from your own delivery channel, you can dispatch a rider through Lalamove. See Delivery Order Fulfilment with Lalamove.
