What this tab is for
The Items tab is the line-item ledger: what was sold, dish by dish, including the options chosen on each item. Everything here uses the Item Total basis — item prices before discounts, service charge and tax (see How to read the Daily Summary Report).
The tables
1. Items | by Day & Item
One row per day × item: category, quantity sold, how many orders contained it, item revenue, and Avg Unit Price (item revenue ÷ quantity — it moves when options or different price levels change what a unit actually sold for). Rows are grouped per menu item, so two genuinely different items with the same name stay separate.
2. Items | Every Order Item
One row per line on every bill:
Reporting Date / Order Date — business day and the actual order timestamp.
Category, Item, Quantity, Unit Price, Item Total — what was sold and for how much.
Option Group — the options chosen on the item (e.g. size, spice level), listed together.
Status — confirmed or cancelled. Cancelled lines are not counted as sales anywhere.
Ordered By — who put this specific item on the bill: the customer's name for QR self-ordering, otherwise the staff member who rang it in (from the POS activity log; the person who added the item, not necessarily the person who opened the table). "(staff)" appears when the item predates the activity log.
3. Items + Options | Every Order Item Option
The same line-item view exploded one level deeper: one row per option on each item, with the option group, option name and option price alongside the parent item. Use it to reconcile option revenue — e.g. how much "Extra Cheese" earned. (This table is heavy to render, so there's no preview image here — open the tab to see it.)
4. Options | Every Option
A flat list of every option chosen in the period with its option group and price. Free options show 0 — they appear here for popularity counting even though they add no revenue.
Definitions
Only confirmed items on completed orders count as sold. Cancelled items are visible in Every Order Item with status cancelled and analysed on the Cancellations tab.
Item Total excludes discounts, SC and tax — summing this tab will not equal the charged totals on the Orders tab.
Option prices are included in the parent item's Item Total; the option tables exist to break that value out.
