Find orders faster with one search field

When service gets busy, staff often need to find an order quickly without guessing whether to search by table, queue number, or internal ID.

Papaya now gives you one search field in the Orders list that can search by:

  • Channel name

  • Order number

  • Full order ID

This helps staff move between order lookup tasks faster, especially for takeaway, direct-printing, and support cases.

Where to find it

Go to Merchant Dashboard → Orders.

At the top of the orders list, you will see the search field labeled:

Channel, Order no., or ID

Search type

Example

How it works

Channel name

Table 12, Takeaway Counter, Grab

Finds orders whose channel name contains the text you entered

Order number

105, A-105

Finds matching order numbers, useful for direct-printing workflows

Full order ID

01JSHY...

Finds the exact matching order

How to use it

  1. Open Orders

  2. Stay on the tab you want to search in, such as Open, Complete, or Cancelled

  3. Type into Channel, Order no., or ID

  4. Wait briefly for the results to update

  5. Open the matching order from the list

When this is most useful

Situation

What to search

A staff member wants to reopen or check a table order

Channel name

A takeaway team member is calling queue numbers

Order number

Support or operations needs to locate one exact order

Full order ID

Tips

  • Use channel name when staff remember the table or channel, but not the order number.

  • Use order number for faster lookup in direct-printing flows.

  • Use the full order ID when you need to find one exact order.

  • The search works together with your current tab and filters, so you can narrow results faster.

  • Clear Filters resets the search field and returns you to the default view.

Things to keep in mind

  • Search works within the current list view and filters you have selected.

  • Order ID search requires the full ID, not part of it.

  • If you do not see the order, check the current tab, date filter, or other active filters first.

FAQ

Why can’t I find an order I know exists?

First, check whether you are in the correct tab such as Open, Complete, or Cancelled. Then check the date range or any other filters that may still be active.

Can I search by part of an order ID?

No. Order ID search only works with the full order ID.

Does this replace queue numbers?

No. Queue numbers still work as before. This feature just makes them easier to search from the same field as channel names and IDs.
