Menu item groups let you bundle multiple menu items together under a single selection — perfect for meal deals, set menus, and combo packages. They are configured in Settings → Base Menu → Menu Item Groups.

How menu item groups work

A menu item group is a set of menu items that a customer can choose from when ordering a particular dish. Unlike option groups (which add modifiers like toppings), menu item groups bundle entire menu items — each with their own options, prices, and recipes.

Example: A 🍔 Burger Combo Meal (฿300) might include:

  • A "Choose your burger" group (pick 1)

  • A "Choose your side" group (pick 1)

  • A "Choose your drink" group (pick 1)

Creating a menu item group

Step 1: Create the group

Go to Settings → Base Menu → Menu Item Groups and click Add menu item group. Give it a name (e.g. "Burger Selection").

Step 2: Add menu items

Select the menu items that belong in this group. These must already exist in your base menu.

Step 3: Set the rules

Rules control how many items a customer must or can select:

  • Required — must select items:

    • Exactly — a fixed number (e.g. exactly 1)

    • Between — a range (e.g. between 2 and 5)

  • Optional — can select items but doesn’t have to. Set Maximum total items to cap selection.

For groups where customers may want multiples of the same item (e.g. "Pick 6 donuts"), see Per-Item Quantity in Menu Item Groups.

Step 4: Save

Click Save

Attaching groups to a menu item

After creating your groups, go to Base Menu → Menu Items, create or edit the combo item (e.g. 🍔 Burger Combo Meal), set its price, scroll down, and select the menu item groups to include. Once saved, customers and staff will see the grouped items as selectable options when ordering.

Price in Menu Item Group

By default, items within a group have their price set to ฿0 — meaning the combo price is the price you set on the parent menu item. If individual items have prices, those are added on top of the combo price.

‼️ If a menu item in the group has its own option groups, customers can select those options as well — nested customisation is fully supported.

FAQ

  • What’s the difference between menu item groups and option groups? Option groups add modifiers to a single item (e.g. toppings). Menu item groups bundle entire menu items together (e.g. choosing a burger, side, and drink in a meal deal).

  • Can I reuse the same menu item in multiple groups? Yes. A menu item like "French Fries" can appear in multiple groups (e.g. "Burger Combo Sides" and "Steak Combo Sides").
