Receipt Logo Printing

Print your outlet logo at the top of receipts — per printer group, with thermal printing best practices

You can print your outlet’s logo at the top of receipts. The setting is per printer group, so different receipt printers can have different configurations.

How to enable

  1. Go to Settings → Direct Printing → Printer Groups

  2. Edit a printer group with Document Type: Receipt

  3. Toggle on Print outlet logo

Requirements

  • Your outlet must have a logo uploaded in Settings → Outlets (logo field)

  • The printer group must be set to Receipt type — this option is not available for ticket printer groups

How it renders

The logo is printed centred at the top of the receipt, before the outlet name. It renders at 50% of the receipt width (minimum 48mm) using Star Document Markup.

‼️ Thermal printers only print in black and white. Use a logo with dark elements and strong contrast. Light, pastel, or colour-heavy logos will print poorly or appear blank. Always test-print after enabling.

Best practices for logos

  • Use dark colours and strong contrast

  • Avoid light, pale, or pastel designs

  • Consider preparing a high-contrast version specifically for thermal printing

  • Test-print after enabling to verify it looks good

Troubleshooting

Logo doesn’t appear:

  1. Check a logo is uploaded in Settings → Outlets

  2. Confirm Print outlet logo is toggled on for the printer group

  3. Confirm the printer group type is Receipt

Logo prints very light or blank:

  • The logo likely uses light colours — upload a darker, higher-contrast version

Multiple receipts printing:

  • The same physical printer may be assigned to multiple receipt printer groups with different logo settings — each group prints its own receipt. This is expected. The cash drawer still only opens once.
